Sportline makes great looking heart rate monitors. They aren’t as feature rick as Polar or rugged looking as Timex but they have a few unique features which make them worthy of your research.
Sportline makes 3 different lines of HRMs:
- Duo Series: These HRMs work both with and without a chest strap. You get the best of both worlds with the Duo Series. You don’t have to choose between a heart rate monitor for working out (with a chest strap) and an everyday watch for measuring your standing heart rate throughout the day (without a chest strap). There are no limitations with the Duo Series.
- Solo Series: One finger, super-fast, EKG-accurate readings without a chest strap. If you find a chest strap to be uncomfortable, you should check out the solo series from Sportline. You can use one finger because of the back of the watch has a metal plate. The watch monitors the electrical signal between your finger and your arm. Ingenious and fast. Most of the watches in the Solo series offer their “3Beat” feature. They will measure your heart rate in just 3 beats- that’s incredibly fast for a strapless heart rate monitor.
- TQR Series: This Sportline series may be the best looking HRM’s on the market. They are fashionable analog watches that are able to display our heart rate (superimposed on the analog watch face) at anytime throughout the day.
Another unique feature for many Sportline heart rate monitors are a digital pedometer. Not a cheap, inaccurate pedometer that you might be used to. These are highly accurate digital pedometers which are based on tiny accelerometers. That gives you even more reason to wear your Sportline line during the day- you can monitor your heart rate any time with one finger while you are counting your steps.
So far we have only done a detailed review of one Sportline heart rate monitor from the TQR Series. We reviewed that model because it caught our eye being a unique heart rate monitor watch.
